Dr. Bonnick was chairman of the Finsac Board of Directors from Finsac's inception in January 1997 until March 1998, when the chairmanship was handed over to Dr. Kenneth Rattray. A noted economist, Dr. Bonnick's knowledge and experience stem from a career of over 40 years in the field of economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has lectured locally and internationally. His professional career has seen him employed to the Ministry of Finance for over 10 years, to the Bank of Jamaica as Deputy Governor and to the World Bank, in various capacities, for over 15 years. Additionally, Dr. Bonnick has served as a consultant to the United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD), the World Bank, the British Development Division and the Government of Jamaica.
