Mr. Perry has literally spent the whole of his adult life engaged in the practice of Industrial Relations. After graduating from Howard University and returning to Jamaica, he joined the National Workers Union in 1969. He became General Secretary in the late 1970s and Island Supervisor in 1981. During this time he continued his interest in the field by participating in Trade Union courses at the Front Royal Institute George Meany Labor Center, USA and the Denada Lo School in Denmark among others. Mr. Perry was also President of the Caribbean Bauxite Mines and Metal Workers Federation and the United Port Workers Union. He represented Caribbean Mines Workers at the International Metal Workers Federation and sat on the Executive Committee of the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL). He resigned from the Labour Movement in 1987 and since then has functioned in the private sector as an Industrial Relations Consultant. Mr. Perrys wealth of experience in the field and active consultancy practice provides him with a unique insight into the Labour Relations nexus in Jamaica.
